About Hey Lady!

At Hey Lady!, we empower women to speak up confidently and gain experience communicating in their non-native language (English). Our online community is an ecosystem that supports language learning, personal growth, and peer-to-peer collaboration - all under one roof.

About the Role

Are you a master at connecting people and creating communities that feel like family?

We’re looking for a passionate, results-driven Community Lead to lead our Member Success & Engagement Team - the heartbeat of Hey Lady! Your mission is to foster a vibrant, inclusive, and inspiring space where members connect deeply, grow confidently, and contribute generously.

You’ll oversee daily community operations, lead and mentor a talented team, and drive strategies that boost member retention, participation, and impact. From facilitating connections between members to crafting feedback opportunities that lead to revealing insights, you’ll be the person ensuring Hey Lady! remains the go-to place for women to create a vibrant English-speaking life.

At A Glance

Role: Community Lead (full-time)

Reports to: CEO & Co-founder

Location: Remote

• Member engagement & retention

• Community operations & events

• Team leadership & coaching

Key Responsibilities

The main duties of the role include, but are not limited to:

Member Experience

Champion an exceptional community experience across all touch points

• Design and implement initiatives that help members connect and thrive

• Resolve member issues with empathy and efficiency

• Create a culture of peer-to-peer support and contribution

Events & Engagement

• Oversee the planning and execution of community events, workshops, and activities

• Collaborate with internal teams and partners to deliver impactful experiences

• Maintain quality, consistency, and brand alignment in every event

Daily Operations

• Maintain a regular presence in the community and ensure team coverage

• Communicate platform updates, new initiatives, and member feedback clearly

• Identify and act on opportunities to improve workflows, tools, and processes

Team Leadership

• Lead and support a team of Community Managers and Coaches

• Manage workload distribution, training, performance reviews, and team development

• Foster a collaborative, caring, and high-accountability team culture

Retention & Growth

• Drive member retention through proactive relationship building and engagement strategies

• Monitor member feedback, behaviour, and data to identify trends and opportunities

• Enforce community guidelines and support reactivation of past members

Onboarding & Acquisition

• Collaborate with marketing and onboarding teams to support new member activation  

• Participate in outreach efforts (e.g., interviews, podcasts, social content)

• Maintain a strong network and identify PR and partnership opportunities

About You

• An energising presence who leads with heart, purpose, and initiative

• A “people champion” who loves seeing others grow and succeed

• An inclusive, hands-on leader who rolls up your sleeves and inspires your team

• Calm under pressure, solutions-focused, and highly organised

• Confident juggling priorities in a fast-paced environment

Skills & Experience

• 5+ years in community management or related leadership (online preferred)

• Proven ability to build meaningful relationships with diverse stakeholders

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Skilled in analysing member behaviour using Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Metabase, Google Analytics)

• Excellent organisation, time management, and attention to detail

• (Preferred) Remote work experience

• (Preferred) Experience learning or speaking a second language
